Things to see and places to go on your Cyprus holiday.

The Donkey Sanctuary is a nostalgic visit for those who miss the good old days when punctures were not an issue, when off-road were a way of life and when hay (not petrol) was the fuel! Cyprus and its donkeys go a long way back in time together.

So make sure to visit the Village of Vouni and the Donkey Sanctuary, neither you, and certainly not the kids will be disappointed.

Also of interest may be the Wine Museum another part of History in Cyprus, Wine has been one of the major exports of the island for thousands of years.

Located near the village of Erimi it offers a look into the history of Wine making in Cyprus.

Back to animals though, after our visit to the Pafos Birdpark we were pleasantly surprised to see a park which is unlike anything we have seen in Cyprus, a park which now not only offers bird lovers a great time to see some of the most spectacular species not only of the island of Cyprus but of the world.

Also to be found there are giant tortoises the size of which will enthral your children, but never offer to get them one for home!

Driving towards Nicosia and just off the highway from Pafos or Limassol the village of Lefkara not only offers its traditional lace and intricately worked silver but now also offers the only wax figure museum in Cyprus , the ‘Fatsa’ as it is called,  and which will take you through history in a fascinating way.

Don’t forget that if you do have children with you there are some great Waterparks to visit, for example the Fassouri Waterpark in the middle of the orange tree fields of Fassouri especially will not let you down when looking for fun.

Also not to be missed is the unique "Time Elevator" experience located in the Old Port area of Limassol and which gives you a completely new view of the history of the island. Knowledge and fun in one!

Don’t forget that the island of Cyprus has many secrets. You should always take time when driving around the island to investigate some of the many small villages. You may just by surprise, find a local taverna and get the chance to sample the delight of Cypriot food cooked in a traditional way and which you will just not find in any of the big seafront restaurants with their tourist menus.

We wish you and your family an enjoyable and fun journey of exploration.
